kids and community

I had the pleasure of spending most of this perfect day outdoors installing a mosaic at Maxfield Elementary school. It was sponsored by my new friend Nettie and her non profit Nettie and Friends. It was designed by children and created by everyone we had kids from 5 - 65 work on this project and it is very special! I am so happy to have been invited to be a part of it. Here are some photos after installation but before grouting.
Tomorrow is grouting day I would love help! ;)

  1. Tomorrow we will fill the planters on Snelling Avenue with plants...your hard work (in collaboration with a cast of HUNDREDS) on those art forms have helped make those planters a welcoming attraction for both the neighborhood and the people passing by.

    Thanks, Lori

    Peace and love,

    Diane

  3. Hi Lori, You're a no-reply blogger, so I responded to your question on my post.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

  4. wish I was closer I'd help with grouting just to see these up close, they appear very energetic and dream like to me at the same time.

  5. Your work is amazing. I love mosaics in part because I could put a pile of broken shards in front of you and one in front of me and we would come out with completely different works of art. There are no rules!!

    Happy holidays!
